Hi, I’m Leah

I’m an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD), Accredited Nutritionist (AN), Author and a Mum. Depending on the time of I may be one of these, or all at the same time!

I graduated from the University of Newcastle in 2001 and readily accepted a locum paediatric position in Sydney. Leaving my life and family behind to pursue a dream career working with children, I could never have foreseen that almost 20 years later I would be a Paediatric Dietitian, published author, still living in Sydney and married with two gorgeous, energetic young boys.

I believe…

that children deserve optimal nutrition to achieve their best potential. Knowing how to do this with so much nutrition information available, thousands of foods in the supermarkets and busy lives is today’s challenge. I am passionate about food and health and the science behind it. My aim is to translate my nutrition knowledge into realistic goals and strategies so that all aspects of shopping, preparing and eating food is as relaxed and stress-free as possible.

My clinical dietetic experience is vast, and I work with children of all ages, from newborn babies to teenagers.  Children are not just little adults and the experience of an experienced Paediatric Dietitian is essential.  My special interests include nutrition during pregnancy and early childhood, infant feeding, fussy eating, supporting children with feeding difficulties and type 1 diabetes. I enjoy teaching and mentoring students and fellow dietitians.
